Tri-county Council Vietnam Era Veterans (TCCVEV) is a Not For Profit Section 501c(19) organization founded in 1982 to aid and assist Veterans and their Families and the Community at large in the New York Counties of Albany, Schenectady, Rensselaer...extending our services to Columbia, Greene, Hamilton, Herkimer, Montgomery, Fulton, Saratoga, Schoharie, Warren, and Washington Counties.

We believe it is important for Vietnam Era Veterans to not just stand on the sideline, but to get engaged in the community. Contact us today if you live in or near the Albany, NY area and wish to learn more about the organization or would like to become a member of the TCCVEV.

"Vets Helping Vets"

Aside from marching in parades, we also provide our Color Guard for the service at former President Chester A. Arthur's grave on Memorial Day weekend. We place flags at Saratoga National Cemetery over the Memorial Day weekend. We also put flags on graves at:

- Our Lady of Angels Cemetery

- Albany Rural Cemetery

The Color Guard has also presented the colors at the last 3+ Gold Star Mothers conventions in various locations in New York. Our Color Guard/ Firing Detail also works with the NYS Dept Labor Veterans Program a few times a year to help them honor veterans and Gold Star Mothers. Especially of note is the Memorial Day Service at the NY State Campus in Albany NY.

TCCVEV has set up endowments  at:

- Adirondack College

- Hudson Valley Community College (Troy, NY)

- Schenectady County Community College (Schenectady, NY)

- Russel Sage College

We use money raised to assist veterans throughout the year in need of financial assistance, we have paid a month's rent, paid money to prevent power shut off, paid for veterans to fly to another state to receive special medical attention, purchased special tools so a veteran could return to work (stilt for sheet rockers is one example).

Through our Community Services Program*, we have provided monetary assistance to veterans for other needs, like to pay for needed medical equipment, security deposits so a veteran could move into a home, even paid for mechanical repairs on a vehicle so the veteran could make it to work each day. The assistance provided is overseen by the Community Services Committee and the members work with the Treasurer so there are funds available when needed.

We also proviide volunteer work assisting the Military Courtesey Room at the Albany International Airport.
